Founder

Mr Sundaresan Ramanathan Chetliar

Founder of Palaniappa Chettiar Grinding Mills registered in the year 1988 and then on 23 February 1991, Palaniappa Chettiar Grinding Mills (M) Sdn.Bhd. was formed with a authorized capital of one million ringgit.

Mr. Sundaresan A/L Ramanathan Chetliar AMP.PJK was one of the Founder members with Mr. R. Sathiaseelan A/L Rethinasamy and S. Magendran A/L Sambaiah being the other 2 directors of PCGM.
Sundaresan has worked with UAB Bank since 1976 and has vast experience in the banking sector particularly in bills and credit management. He has completed his AIB London Part 2.
With this experience, he ventured into the business manufacturing sector and started curry powder manufacturing in 1988. In 1990, he became a registered money lender and money changer. Later he ventured into real estate, which gives the company high-end returns today.
PCGM bought its own factory in 1992 and later went into constructing Wisma Palaniappa. Then into Medical Centre known as Apollo Medical Centre and also supermarkets.
The recipe which Palaniappa produces today is formulated by RM. Sundaresan, who loves cooking during his leisure time. It is the secret spice blend of the family.
In recent years, two more companies were formed: “Maxwell Inn Sdn. Bhd.” and “East Indian Spices Limited”, bringing taste to new heights.
